SPAR Now Has More Time For Customer Care.

185 SPAR neighborhood markets and SPARexpress convenience markets as well as 11 TopCC cash & carry pick-up markets would be at a standstill without SAP HANA. This is why SPAR opted for UMB when it came to hardware and database migration, release upgrades, replacement of the backup tool and the deployment of ew functionalities.

Five new system landscapes in record time!

With 2,150 employees and sales of over one billion Swiss francs, SPAR is a well-established player in the Swiss retail trade. UMB - and originally NewVision Consulting - have been supporting SPAR Handels AG since 2009. Within only eight months, existing system landscapes were migrated to new hardware and SAP HANA using the Database Migration Option of the SAP Software Update Manager. No fewer than five new system landscapes were set up as part of the project.

Short migration window presents special challenges.

Migrating from an actively operating retail system was a particular challenge due to the short down-time and the one-time migration window during Whitsun weekend. Thanks to extensive preparations and test phases as well as precise coordinating by all partners, all deadlines have been met during preliminary work and planned down-times.

UMB's operational excellence will mean more time for customer care.
