The group combines several subsidiaries and operates at over 20 locations in Switzerland. Its five business divisions include building materials, demolition and earthworks, environmental technology, cranes and heavy haulage, as well as lifting platform rentals.
Outdated and fragmented network results in time lost and subpar security
The existing network of Toggenburg Enterprises no longer met today's requirements and had reached the end of its lifecycle. It was divided into separate elements, isolated by location, which severely impaired efficiency. This made it impossible to manage the network uniformly across several locations. In addition, the outdated network no longer met modern security standards and required a great deal of maintenance. The same applied to the existing WLAN infrastructure, which was in need of modernization.
Simple central management and high security thanks to network modernization
In order to efficiently manage over 500 machines, Toggenburg Enterprises decided to work with the network experts from UMB and Huawei to modernize its IT network, increase security and reduce administrative costs.
The network experts from UMB and Huawei have created a comprehensive campus network that connects all of Toggenburg Enterprise's locations. This network is characterized by the highest security standards thanks to Huawei's advanced Network Access Control system (NAC). The solution is also user-friendly to manage and can be easily extended to other locations.

The significantly increased network security and time-saving administration are particularly important to us.”
In addition, the entire WLAN was replaced with the same focus and modernized to the latest WiFi 7 technology.
More security for Toggenburger AG with iMaster NCE-Campus and NCE-CampusInsight
Toggenburg Enterprises can now also react faster, better and more proactively to problems in their network and its architecture. Huawei iMaster NCE-CampusInsight collects data in real time, detects faulty devices immediately and localizes network problems in the shortest possible time. The solution also provides detailed and intelligent troubleshooting suggestions. By using this solution, Toggenburger AG can monitor the network centrally and make quick adjustments if necessary. The long-established company now has a more secure and stable network to work with.
Toggenburger AG plans to take further modernization steps by 2027
Thanks to close collaboration with UMB and Huawei, Toggenburger AG was able to develop a future-proof phased plan over several years. The conversion of the branch offices is planned for 2025 and 2026. Huawei's modern and easy-to-manage firewalls will also be used at these locations. From 2027, there are also plans to expand the network with SD-WAN - with the aim of saving even more time and money in the long term.
