More Time for KENDRIS: Successful Migration to the Azure Cloud.

To ensure that KENDRIS' specialists have the time to do this, UMB now supports their entire basic IT operations. In a successful cloud journey, all business case applications, including data, were migrated from a private cloud to the Azure Cloud in cooperation with the internal IT department.

Its clients include high net worth individuals and families, family offices, owner-managed businesses, SMEs, corporations and institutional clients. The company, which is run as a partnership with more than 180 employees, has offices in Switzerland (Zurich, Aarau, Geneva, Zug) and abroad. Its IT was managed by a medium-sized outsourcing provider in its virtualized private cloud. KENDRIS closely followed Microsoft's offerings and was an early adopter of M365 services.
Cloud-first and Microsoft strategy: UMB migrates and optimizes
It all started with KENDRIS' desire to migrate its IT to the Azure Cloud in line with the cloud-first and Microsoft strategy. KENDRIS chose the Azure Cloud based on long-term cost and security considerations. KENDRIS also plans to use Azure web services for self-hosted web-based applications or, in the medium term, software-as-a-service offerings with a cloud-to-cloud approach.
UMB's cloud and Microsoft experts began with a comprehensive assessment, followed by target solution planning that included the Azure blueprint, Azure migration, and Azure operations. Working closely with internal IT, UMB not only migrated smoothly in a lift-and-shift process, but also optimized services to realize the planned savings in the cloud. UMB's IT as a service supports basic operations and manages the client lifecycle
UMB supports KENDRIS with basic IT operations. This includes a dedicated UMB first level support team at Zurich headquarters, the monitoring of the network and the local technical infrastructure. Our experts take care of the client lifecycle, maintenance and updates. KENDRIS‘ IT focuses on application operations and development of some business case applications, leaving more time for innovation.
UMB's standardized Day 2 operation was provided for smooth Azure operations to ensure a continuous and secure handover to operations. Reliable monitoring, cloud service management and automated update/patch management of server and client infrastructure play a central role.

UMB's IT as a service package also includes services such as cybersecurity monitoring. Our Cyber Defense Centers provide the highest level of security - seven days a week, 24 hours a day, for all workstations and cloud workloads.
