UMB wins tender thanks to perfectly tailored concept
Following a tender process, UMB developed a new site networking concept based on the SD-WAN standard. The solution already impressed in the proof-of-concept phase and proved to be optimally tailored to the requirements of the long-established company Bühler. Today, UMB manages the global firewall infrastructure around the clock as part of a managed services contract—reliably, securely, and efficiently. Managed services with shared operational responsibility
The managed services agreement is unique in that network experts from UMB and Bühler AG jointly manage the infrastructure. UMB is responsible for basic network functions such as patch and firmware management and configuration of the base systems. This also includes routing and VPN networking of all locations with an intelligent type of full-mesh connection. Bühler's internal IT department is responsible for the entire set of firewall rules relating to users. This partnership-based collaboration not only ensures smooth operation, but also impresses with its high efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
