Welcome to Solothurn: UMB opens a new location near the train station.
Perron 1 – the name says it all: on 1 July 2025, UMB opened a new location directly adjacent to platform 1 at Solothurn railway station. This move has allowed us to consolidate three locations: Biel, Luterbach and Zuchwil have been closed, and our colleagues are swapping their familiar offices for a modern and extremely convenient new office at Dornacherstrasse 26a in Solothurn.

We are delighted to present our new location in Solothurn. You can now find us in north-western Switzerland, right next to platform 1 at Solothurn railway station, just three minutes away from the beautiful old town.
The modern and sustainable building with a solar panel system on the roof was awarded the Arc Award in the multi-family housing category in 2012. It houses both commercial and residential units and offers pleasantly air-conditioned offices – naturally in UMB's stylish yellow and black look.
Three teams serve our customers in Bern and north-western Switzerland
Three teams that previously worked in Zuchwil, Luterbach and Biel now operate from the new location. A total of 40 workstations are assigned to ‘Perron 1’. Damian Moser, Senior Account Manager in Solothurn, comments: ‘By merging our locations in Solothurn, we are pooling our resources in one place. This promotes exchange between teams, simplifies collaboration and increases our efficiency – instead of three locations, we will now operate only one central location in the region.’
UMB is also a great place to learn in Solothurn
The Solothurn location is also important for training: every year, two new apprentices start their apprenticeships at UMB in Solothurn alone – a total of eight apprentices complete their training directly on site in Solothurn. All UMB training places for 2025 are filled. The next taster days for computer scientists in platform development EFZ will take place in spring 2026 – information will follow here on the website. The application phase will start in August 2025.
