VNA from ALE – for rapid redistribution of information to people and systems

There is growing demand for easy-to-create, context-sensitive alarm and notification solutions that do not require in-depth IT knowledge. ALE's VNA delivers exactly that – industry-specific, deeply integrated, multi-channel capable and completely ‘Made in Europe’ – in stark contrast to generic tools such as Zapier or Make.

The Visual Notification Assistant (VNA)[i] from Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise [ii] impresses with its intuitive visual interface, which allows context-sensitive, complex alarm and notification scenarios to be created using drag & drop without in-depth IT knowledge. The VNA is a flexible notification system that can send audio and text messages in real time to selected users, but also to very large user groups – to their devices, messaging clients (UC, chat, SMS, email) and landline and mobile phones (audio/video). The platform offers versatile automation options. Relevant information from existing systems such as databases or ERP can be easily integrated into the desired processes – whether locally, hybrid or completely in the cloud. Integration is carried out via HTTP requests (webhooks) and other common access methods, allowing individual workflows to be designed. For example, an HTTP request can be used automatically by an IT monitoring or sensor system to trigger an alarm. Whether a VIP customer calls, a cooling unit exceeds a temperature limit, a machine breaks down, a server crashes or a security incident occurs – the VNA immediately alerts the responsible employees via telephone, text message, email or app and provides all relevant information. In addition, it is possible to create dynamic groups and rooms to ensure fast and targeted processing of the event in a team with internal and, if necessary, external participants. Thanks to this flexible and highly available solution, companies with high availability and data protection requirements, for example due to stricter security regulations, benefit from considerable added value.

Intuitive design for quick integration and easy maintenance

VNA transforms events into urgent messages via a single, user-friendly web interface. No advanced IT knowledge is required to operate it. Users can drag and drop elements to create custom scenarios, messages or groups. This simplicity speeds up deployment and makes it possible even for non-technical staff to create and maintain new notification workflows in no time.

Notifications can be sent via various channels: audio multicasts via desk phones, push notifications via the Rainbow app, SMS or email. For greater reach, VNA supports multicast notifications or one-way conferences with up to 120 users simultaneously.

VNA deployment with Swiss precision

The pursuit of location-independent communication and collaboration has rapidly driven digital transformation. UMB is an ALE partner in the field of digital age networking and communications and is ideally suited for VNA deployment. ALE's innovative strength and solutions are impressive, and more than a million customers use them every day.

UMB's expertise complements the offering with comprehensive VNA consulting for Swiss companies – from design to deployment, for hybrid cloud setups or on-premises. In a world where every second counts, ALE's OmniPCX [iii] Enterprise Purple and Rainbow[iv] communication systems, in combination with VNA, offer an ideal solution for rapid workflow creation and fast distribution of relevant information to the right people and systems – whether for business optimisation or to save lives.

This makes the VNA ideal for companies looking for a robust, flexible and understandable solution for critical notifications without having to invest in extensive workflow programming.

In summary, the ALE VNA stands out because it:

  • is universally applicable, for example in commerce/retail, schools, hospitals, retirement homes and critical infrastructures (KRITIS) or even in industry (production);
  • offers many open interfaces for the integration of CRM, ERP, other databases, web services and IoT;
  • integrates multi-tenant and/or multi-channel alarms and conference calls;
  • provides a user-friendly, visualised user interface;
  • can be integrated directly into the Alcatel-Lucent communications infrastructure;
  • can be set up on-site or from the cloud and, if required, can also be made highly available;
  • and does not require complex individual developmen
