UMB strengthens its service organisation: Karsten Sauerwald takes charge of the entire service division as CSO
Cham, 29 April 2026 – IT service provider UMB is placing even greater emphasis on customer needs and the company’s strategic development through a comprehensive reorganisation of its service organisation. Karsten Sauerwald, previously Head of Professional Services, has taken on the role of Chief Service Officer (CSO), assuming responsibility for the entire service organisation, including the Competence Centre and Customer Centre divisions. The aim is to bring together all UMB services, Competence and Customer Centres, strengthen the customer focus and ensure strategic development.

Several key positions have been filled or expanded: Jan Tschopp has recently joined UMB and taken charge of the newly established Competence Centre for Modern Work and Connectivity. Andreas Jud, also a new recruit, heads the Competence Centre for Platform Solutions. Carlos Moreira, previously responsible for Communication Services, has additionally taken on the Cyber Security division. Massimo Castelberg leads the Competence Centre for Cloud. Marc Zimmermann, previously Head of Cloud & Cyber Security Services, has moved into a new role as Head of Business Development.
