« As the largest Indoor arena in Switzerland we rely on a performant and highly redundant IT platform. We source this high quality platform cost-effectively as a service from the UMB cloud.»

Hallenstadion: Transformation into the biggest event location in Switzerland – and into the UMB cloud for the next five years10/11/2016 - 08:45
The Zurich Hallenstadion, the star among Switzerland’s event premises, has transformed from a velodrome into a temple for popular culture – it is a state of the art, multifunctional multimedia location for top quality events. This transformation also happens with its IT; over the next five years, the Hallenstadion will count on the UMB cloud.
An ongoing transformation – with and thanks to UMB
Robbie Williams, Adele, Tina Turner, Madonna – they all have been here. The CSI, Art on Ice, the Six-Day-Race, the ice hockey world championships – no big event in Switzerland can do without the Hallenstadion. But it all began as a humble covered cycling track built in addition to an already existing open cycling track. Many transforming steps were required to reach today’s dimensions, but a new successful era for the Hallenstadion began with the renovation and the extension project in 2004/2005 for CHF 145 million. UMB has been facilitating the successful transformation of the Hallenstadion as an IT partner for more than eleven years. This close cooperation will be continuing over the next five years
UMB: Professional, friendly and pragmatic
Says Felix Frei, CEO of AG Hallenstadion: "We are connected to UMB through a partnership which has been long-standing and innovative. We got to know the UMB team as very professional, friendly, pragmatic and flexible. These qualities are required in our dynamic event environment where there are no office hours. I am looking forward to our next technological step, the transformation into the UMB cloud as well as the continuing of our long-standing partnership.”
The new StarLounge at the Hallenstadion
The newest feature at the Hallenstadion, the StarLounge, was opened this fall. This breathtaking lounge experience has so far been reserved for annual holders of select seats. As of now, private guests too can feel very close to the stars above the stadium roof.
With the opening of the StarLounge, the Hallenstadion also created a new member area. Club members are offered an unmatched package: Guaranteed seats at the 20 top events, a reserved parking spot, a separate entrance, a buffet offering exquisite delicacies, sparkling champagne and elegant long drinks. The icing on the cake: Viewing the stage and the enthusiastic crowd from the lounge balcony.
